Tips In Taking Care Of Your Photographs

1. Prior to placing pictures in a photo frame, make sure that you have a mat board with it to protect your photo from damage. It is also crucial to place your photo frame away from the sunlight.

2. Avoid storing or keeping your photos in the same closet or cabinet where you keep your cleaning products or any other harmful chemicals like paint, pesticide or hairsprays because their fumes can actually damage your photos.

3. If you live in an area where disaster like flood and tornado constantly hit your place make sure that you securely keep your photographs in a place where they are safe. Place it in an enameled steel file cabinet or perhaps if you have a safety deposit box in your home you can place it there together with your other valuables.

4. One way of displaying and storing the photos is through photo album, be sure that you are using an acid-free album pages. Most albums these days are already acid-free but to be sure you can check out the label and look for the acid-free word.

5. If you are fond of keeping our photographs in a box be sure that you do not mix it with newspaper clippings as well as other documents. Some newspapers and magazines may contain a small amount of acid, which could damage your photo.
