Instructions on How to Copy Wii Games

I present today, for your reading enjoyment, this complete guide on the topic of how to copy Wii games. Many of my readers and listeners have been clamoring for this guide for the past 2 years, so I finally put it together. I hope you like it!

Now, in years past, you needed to put in a mod chip to be able to enjoy copied video games. I had written about mod chips previously, in this post. Basically, a mod chip is actually a special type of computer chip that you have to attach inside of your Wii console. This involves breaking open the Wii, which in turn voids the warrantee.

In today’s more advanced world, there is a better option. Prior to 2009, the only way to accomplish the task of playing backed up games indeed was to install a mod chip. But now, you can simply mod your game discs instead! This is because there are several applications now available that will let you strip off the encryption from your games and make a direct 1:1 copy!

But, I have a tendency to ramble, and I think I’m starting to. So, without any more talk on my part, let’s get to the actual guide…

First Step:

Get a hold of the program, and save the executable file to your pc’s desktop. The exact same file works on either a Mac or pc. I do believe that they are currently creating a program for Linux.

2:

At this point, you’ve downloaded the .exe. Now you just need to double click it to make it install onto your PC. Hit “next” everytime it asks you. It will tell you that it is finished after a few minutes.

3:

Which game do you want to copy first? Decide now. Take it out and insert it into your computer’s CD drive.

4:

Now, when you installed the program, it should have created a shortcut to itself on your desktop. Double click that shortcut now to launch it.

5th Step:

This step is where the difference comes in compared to trying to duplicate games with ordinary CD copying software like Windows Media Player or Roxio. You need to “rip” the game disc. Choose the selection in the game copy program in order to extract, and then decide exactly where you wish to store the file. I recommend only using the desktop just as before. And then hit “Start”.

6:

Ok, if you managed to get this far, I am presuming that the copy completed successfully. If not, start again from Step Two. Now, take out the game cd out of your optical drive, and insert a blank CD or DVD into it. Any kind of CD or DVD which is compatible with your own drive works. In the programs menu, select “write” mode. And then scan to the file which it copied to your desktop. Click “Start”.

STEP 7

Now, sit back and grab a drink. This could take up to 10 minutes. When it’s done, it will let you know by playing some annoying music and coming up with a “finished” screen.

And now, your learning for how to backup Wii games is finished! Yay!
