Don’t Get Stuck In The Middle Levels: Farmville Crop Guide
Maybe your Farmville life has been lacking something lately. Perhaps you plowed through the beginning levels and earned lots of coins, but you’re in a bit of a rut. You’re not sure how to get more coins.
First of all, relax. It’s a simple problem with a simple solution. The problem is that the best crops to plant and harvest don’t always stay the same — they’re not the same now as they were when you were in the beginning levels. The solution is figuring out what the best crop to plant and harvest is now, in the middle levels. During the beginning levels, strawberries are number one, as they make 6.25 coins for every hour they grow. But when you hit level eight, that changes. At that level, raspberries, which earn 13 coins for every hour they grow, push strawberries out of the top spot.
Then again, this is dependent on the amount of time you have each day to spend on Farmville. If you don’t have that much time, the top crop is pumpkins — they’re ready to harvest in eight hours and make 4.75 coins an hour.
At level seven, it’s almost equal between pumpkins and rice as far as which one is best to plant when you don’t have a lot of time, as pumpkins earn 4.75 coins per hour over eight hours and rice earns 4.25 per hour over 12 hours. It really just depends on your schedule.
If you have all the time in the world, stick to raspberries from levels 8-16. They mature extremely fast, being ready to harvest in two hours, and they yield 13 coins per hour, which is the highest amount of coins per hour for any crop at those levels.
At the seventeenth level, you have the choice of continuing to plant raspberries or going with blueberries instead. If you’re limited on time, blueberries might be the better choice, since they’re ready to harvest in four hours, as opposed to two, which means you won’t have to check on them as often as you would with raspberries. But if time isn’t such an issue for you, and you’re more concerned about the coins you’ll be making, then just remember that blueberries make 10.25 an hour, and raspberries make 13 an hour.
If you’re planting raspberries on 16 plots – a modest estimate – and harvesting them every two hours in a 16 hour day, you’ll be earning 9,856 coins in profit per week! Again, that’s only a modest estimate, so you should be more than able to start earning a steady income again!
As you gain levels, remember to pay attention to how much different crops earn – raspberries or blueberries may not always be the most efficient crops for you. Here’s a formula to help you figure out how many coins different crops make per hour:
(Sell Price – Cost) / Hours to Mature = Coins Per Hour
If you’re using that formula to keep track of the highest earning crops as you level, making coins should never be an issue for you. Happy farming!
