When you know that your dog is independent, it would be best to reward them during their training. Dogs love rewards. All you need to do is to identify what rewards would make them happy and take advantage of it. If they would love cookies, then bring some cookies in training and reward them in every command you give. Rests assure that you will have a good and smooth training with your dog.
